WEEKEND IN REVIEW:
- To start...I had a 3 day weekend!!!!! Plus, I got paid for Saturday! Score!
- Friday night I went out with one of our new temps. He's a total doll & we had so much fun. Spent most of the time giggling and acting stupid. My favorite kind of people.
- Saturday I was supposed to clean, but ended up being a lazy butt instead. Ha! Watched TV and played with Chloe-dog.
- Sunday I finally got up off my butt & cleaned. Not the best cleaning job, but my floor is clean.
- Yesterday I went out to lunch w/ best bud. I have to take a picture of my b-day gift from her. Too funny & perfect! She knows me well.
- After lunch, we went over to the Salvation Army so I could find a chair for my bedroom. I found one chair, but it was $75 and not in the best of condition. My BB said "Well, why don't we go to the Goodwill? It's right down the street...maybe you could find something there. If not, we can come back." So, we went over to the Goodwill. I found a really nice Lay-Z-Boy rocker/recliner for $50, but the reclining part was broken. Right next to it was the chair I ended up buying. It's the most hideous shade of orange (think 70's orange shag & you'll have an idea) and it's kind of a chenille, but it's in great shape, it can be recovered & it was all of $19.95. Can't beat that!
- After I took BB home, I stopped at JoAnn's fabrics to see if I could find any fabric. Turns out I went on a great day! Fabric was 50% off! I found a nice beige suede w/ a very subtle pattern for $4.50 a yard. Spent less than $50 for 9 yards! One of these days I will recover that stupid chair & it's going to be beautiful! But for now, I've got an ugly orange chair in my bedroom. Not only that, but it's got an ottoman too. Now I can put my feet up & be comfy! Yay me!
- Today is pretty slow here at work, but that's okay. I need to stop at Freddy's, then I'm going home to eat dinner & watch my TV shows! I know there's been a lot of complaining about this season of Heroes & I can see their point, but there's almost ALWAYS a sophomore slump. I'm just crossing my fingers it'll be better next year.
I did read a phenomenal book this weekend. It's called Lord of the Fading Lands by CL Wilson. I would term it more a fantasy w/ a lot of romantic parts than a true romance. This is the first book. Part 2 comes out next month. I was very impressed with Ms. Wilson's world-buidling. Instead of them having a bond & falling right into bed just because of that, she really built up the relationship between Ellie & Rain. Talk about sexy hero. Yummy!
Well, I'm off. Work is almost over & I need to clean up my desk a bit. Have a great night everybody!
